A number of organizations are coming together to form the “Democracy Coalition of Pennsylvania.”
They say their goal is to end corruption in the state.
“Together, we will prove that unity and peserverance among ordinary Americans can overcome special interest lobbying and self-serving agendas in the state house,” said Micah Sims, who is with the group Common Cause PA.
The group is among a new coalition that also includes, “March on Harrisburg,” and the “League of Women Voters.”
On Wednesday they laid out their agenda for the legislative session. They called on lawmakers to establish early voting and open primaries, help fund new voting machines and end gerrymandering.
The group will be traveling across the state for what they’re calling a “democracy roadshow.”
The first event is set for April in York, Pa.
