Governor Wolf signs EpiPen Immunity Bill

Local News

Bus drivers and crossing guards will soon be able to use EpiPens on students having an allergic reaction.

Governor Wolf signed the legislation which gives school bus drivers and crossing guards civil immunity from lawsuits when administering EpiPen injections to students suffering from an allergic reaction.

The bus drivers and crossing guards will have to complete training.

The new law does not mandate that school districts or school bus companies enact an EpiPpen policy, only that such a policy allows for civil immunity if the guidelines are met.

The law takes effect in 60 days.
