BEDFORD, Pa. (WTAJ) — A 27-year-old man is facing charges after police say he raped four children in three different counties.

Police say they started investigating Howard Strait last may when two girls claimed he sexually assaulted them in 2016 when they were less than 13 years old.

Strait indicated to police that claims were false.

Then in December a third girl came forward and said she knew the other victims were telling the truth because the same thing happened to her and a 13-year-old boy.

Police interviewed all four of those children and believe that the alleged crimes happened in Bedford, Huntingdon, and Fulton counties.

Today, Strait was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including 9 counts of rape. He was placed in Bedford County Jail on a $250,000 bail.

District Attorney’s offices from all three counties have agreed to allow all charges to be filed in Bedford County.
