Report: Man who fell in Cold Stream Dam is dead... here's what we know

PHILIPSBURG, CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Philipsburg man who fell into the Cold Stream Dam Friday afternoon is dead, according to the Centre County Deputy Coroner Debra Smeal. 

Pennsylvania State Police report that Jones was fishing outside the railing near a bridge ledge over the Cold Stream Dam when, at approximately 1:30 pm, he fell into the water. Locals report that the water is about 10 feet deep near the area where Jones fell in.

State Police report that after Jones fell in, two other fishermen saw him fall, pulled him out of the water, and began giving him CPR.

Moshannon Valley EMS arrived at the scene within minutes of a 9-1-1 from someone at the scene.

State Police also responded and was investigating the scene Friday afternoon. The cause of death is currently unknown.
