A new festival is combining the love of outdoors and what life is like in Elk County.
This weekend is the first-ever Elk County Wilds Mountain Fest.
Organizers were setting up Wednesday at the former Motion Control Building on Gillis Avenue in Ridgway.
There will be food, breweries, horse and carriage rides, contests and games for the kids.
The festival started to attract more people to Elk County.
“People will move here if there are fun activities and stuff,” president of the Elk County Chamber of Commerce Tom Fitch said. “We just want people to see what they are. What kind of foods we eat, what we do in our spare time, what kind of music we listen to. it’s just basically a good time.”
The dates and times of the festival are:
Friday, January 18th, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Saturday, January 19th, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
Sunday, January 20th, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
