Officials in Johnstown are investigating after a fire seriously damaged a home in the Roxbury neighborhood yesterday.

According to the Tribune Democrat, those flames broke out in the attic of the Franklin Street home just after 12:00 a.m.

Firefighters originally tried to fight the flames from inside the home, but were forced outside when the fire spread.

Officials said they had to battle the blaze defensively, because they could not risk the fire spreading to other nearby homes.

The owner of that house was not there at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Officials say the home may not be a total loss, but its roof was destroyed.
