Emergency declaration on opioid crisis may impact gun owners

A Republican state representative applauds the governors action on the opioid crisis, but thinks it will negatively impact gun owners. 

Representative Sheryl Delozier says declaring an emergency activates an automatic trigger in the crimes code that criminalizes the open carrying of firearms in public or on public property. That’s normally a way to prevent looting during a natural disaster. Delozier says she has a bill to adress the issue.
