A favorite son of Johnstown will be honored tomorrow.


Ed Cernic Sr. of Tanneryville died of a stroke on March 21st at the age of 85.


The army and navy veteran was a key figure in recovery efforts after the 1977 Johnstown flood.


He was also a prominent business man, key figure in the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, and the chair of the Johnstown Water Authority.


A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. and services are at 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home.
