Bellefonte, Pa- WTAJ has new details on a former Beta Theta Pi brother facing charges for deleting video from the Beta Theta House’s basement including video from the night of pledge Timothy Piazza’s death.
22-year-old Braxton Becker, the fraternity’s house manager, is accused of intentionally deleting the video. Today charges related to deleting the video were bound over for trial.
Becker has faced similar charges on three previous occasions, and on all three has had the charges thrown out by Centre County judges.
Today, Speco Technologies specialists testified to new details that say the video deletion had to be made on the front of the tech unit, in-person.
Prosecutors say State College police took a picture of Becker in front of the machine at the exact time of the accused deletion…and that Becker, in a message to other brothers said “I could see if I could erase last night.”
Becker’s charges bound over for trial include one misdemeanor count of tampering with evidence, one misdemeanor count of obstructing law enforcement, and one misdemeanor count of destroying evidence.
