In Blair County, the roads were snow-covered during much of the morning, but as the day wore on and traffic picked up travel became easier. The 911 Center had calls about multiple accidents, but none were serious, according to Public Safety Director Mark Taylor.
Taylor says during the last storm, there were 20 to 30 accidents on I-99 alone, but he believes the reduced speed limit this time around resulted in safer travel. He also thinks drivers may be getting more used to traveling in winter weather.
Taylor says it’s been a busy winter for the Blair County Emergency Center with the different storms we’ve had and the fires in the region.
