Daycare workers charged with endangering welfare of children

Local News

SALISBURY, SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Police have stated that Lori and Sierra Menges were watching kids at their daycare on Grant Street in Salisbury Borough.

According to the police report, a young child was laying in a corner under Lori’s supervision. Lori then went to the bathroom to change a child’s diaper, leaving Sierra to watch two areas of the daycare.

Police say Sierra was walking back and forth watching both areas with kids when she noticed one child stomping on the head of the child in the corner.

The child’s parent was called and when they arrived, they requested medical help. EMS responded to the daycare and the child was life-flighted to children’s hospital in Pittsburgh due to swelling and bruising of the forehead, eyes, and nose.

Both women are facing numerous counts of child endangerment.
