The Culinary Cafe at the Clearfield County Career and Technical Center opened for business Tuesday.
The cafe is put together by high school culinary students like Alex Goodrow.
“You get a real-life experience into what it’s like to serve in a restaurant, like as to what you’d be doing in the possible future,” Goodrow said.
Goodrow works along with her classmates to make sure food is prepped and ready to serve.
Students are in charge of running the cafe as a real restaurant.
They plan the menu, order the food, prepare the meal and run the cafe.
“This isn’t a hard class academically, it’s a lot of pressure, and can they handle that pressure,” culinary instructor Dan Schleiden said.
Anyone can come eat lunch at the Culinary Cafe. It’s open 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday from now until near the end of the school year.
