TYRONE, Pa. (WTAJ) — A house in the 5300 block of E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., went up in flames Monday afternoon.
Officials say it took over an hour to put out the fire along with the help of eight other fire companies.
Deputy Chief of Pinecroft Fire Company says luckily he was nearby when the call went out.
“I just happened to be right across the street here getting my vehicle inspected and we got toned out for a fire,” Meyers said. “The garage mechanic told me that it was right across the street from here.”
Meyers was first to arrive on scene. He says when he got there, he confirmed that no one was inside the house, and the woman that was inside had already run to safety.
Meyers says in addition to the flames outside of the house, there was also a fire in the attic.
Officials say the resident who lived in the home was checked out and appears to be fine.
The house is considered a total loss.
