Man identified in deadly early morning crash in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Bedford County Coroner was called to the scene of a crash that occurred early Wednesday morning on Cortland Road.

Michael Howsare, 21, of New Paris was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after losing control of his Ford F-150, hitting multiple objects and then being ejected from the truck police say.

Howsare was traveling along Cortland Road when the truck went off-road, hitting a mailbox and a parked vehicle.

He then got back on the road and crossed the double yellow line, hitting a traffic sign, guidewire and then a tree before the vehicle came to a rest. Howsware was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck.

The truck was then towed from the scene of the crash.
