Community working together to fight hunger

This weekend, folks are coming together to fight hunger in Altoona.

From Friday until Sunday, non-perishable food items will be collected at the Walmart and Sam’s Club in Altoona.

This Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is hosted by the Hollidaysburg Area Women’s Club.

The food will be distributed to several organizations that help folks in need in Blair County.

All donations stay in Blair County and benefit the following organizations: The American Rescue Workers, Family Services of Blair County, St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen, The United Way, The Father’s House Soup Kitchen, Blair Family Solutions, Women’s Domestic Abuse Shelters, The 28th Street Food Pantry, The Hollidaysburg Tiger Pack Program, The Lion’s Pantry, and Home Nursing Agency.
