Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries (ALSM) are collecting supplies for flood buckets to distribute to those in need in Blair County.
Recent flooding has been wreaking havoc on the local community and ALSM saw an opportunity to make a difference.
Staff, residents, and participants of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg and The Senior Daily Living Center were called to serve in response to the flooding.
“I am excited that our team has put this together,” Administrator of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, Jeremy Schrader, said. “We pride ourselves in helping the community in any way that we can.”
A list of needed supplies to create these flood buckets were distributed across ALSM, and they were able to collect eleven flood buckets so far. Flood buckets will be distributed locally through Lutheran Disaster Response.
“It is our mission to serve people in need. In this small way, we are assisting those persons affected by flooding with tools to begin recovery” said Pat Savage, CEO of ALSM.
Individuals who need a flood bucket may contact Sally Lenz at Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries administrative offices at 814-696-4500.
