Pat Errigo, along with his son and daughter, Jonathan and Stephanie, won the ability to create, name, design a label, and bottle a wine. They got this by being the highest bidders at the Anne S. Thacik Charity Auction last fall. This win gave them the ability to select the juices used, label design, blending processes, and to participate in bottling activities earlier in the month.
They created a sweet blend of dragon fruit wind, that is hand bottled, corked, capped, labeled and packed. There were about 500 bottles of the wine. This wine will debut at the Thirteenth Annual Groundhog Trail Wine Festival on Saturday, February 2. It is located at Expo Building 2 at the Clearfield Fair Grounds. Everyone is invited to stop at any of Starr Hill outlets to sample and purchase the “Cheaper than Therapy” wine. They are located inside Walmarts in Altoona, Butler, Clearfield, DuBois and Johnstown, and also at the winery in Curwensville.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of this wine will be donated to the Friends of the Area Agency on Aging Auxiliary to support their programs and services. Starr Hill will offer the same privilege (to create, name, and bottle your own wine) at the next Anne S. Thacik Charity Auction scheduled for the Fall of 2019.
