Centre Cares Receives 34 Million Dollar Loan to Build New Senior Care Center

Local News

Bellefonte, PA- WTAJ has new details on funding for a new Centre Care Health Center which plans to serve seniors. The facility will replace the current Centre Crest Nursing Home.

The USDA approved a loan for $34 million that would help fund the new facility, which will be located near the Nittany Mall.

The loan from the USDA does require an additional $6 million to be raised through donations to Centre Care. Those on the Centre Care board are happy with the direction the project is headed.

“We’re quite excited, we’ve been working on this for almost a year now, and it was a pretty ecstatic day when we got the word we had been approved for the loan, it means that we can move forward with the project- get this building moving and get a new home,” Betsy Boyer, President of Centre Care Inc. said.

The plan is for the new Centre Care Health Center to be completed by the year 2020.
