Cell tower at Meyer Dairy approved

Local News

Part of Centre County could have better internet and phone service soon.  Thursday night, College Township approved Verizon’s application to put a cell tower on the east side of the Meyer Dairy farm land.

“The township is only dealing with land use, this is an appropriate land use, it is to be an upgrade of the signal in the existing area,” Adam Brumbaugh, College Township Manager, said.

Some residents say they’re concerned the cell tower could impact the health of people living nearby.
A spokesman for Verizon says the company will follow all laws required by the F.C.C., and there will be no danger to residents.
No word yet on when the tower will be built.
