LUFKIN, Texas (CBS) — A Lufkin homeowner was caught off guard when they heard glass break and hid in a closet.
It certainly wasn’t the break-in that ANYONE expected.
Around 6 a.m. on Thursday, the Lufkin Police Department responded to a call regarding a burglary in progress.
An officer arrived on scene to find a front window shattered. He then heard something moving around inside the home and called for backup.
Several officers arrived and after entering through the broken window, they soon came face to face with a frightened deer.
After “deer wrangling” with kitchen chairs, police were able to get the deer out the front door.
No serious injuries were reported.
