Leaders in Bellefonte Borough are saying residents have complained for months about feral cats around town. The borough manager says he mave a solution. Ralph Stewart says he went on a trip to New Orleans where he saw a cat café, stray cats would walk around that coffee shop and if a customer makes a connection with one they can adopt it.
“It’s a way of providing funding for the operations of dealing with feral cats, getting them treated and all that, as well as trying to find permanent homes for the cats,” Ralph Stewart, Manager at Bellefonte Borough, said.
The borough is looking for a coffee shop or café to partner with a local animal shelter or rescue to make one of these cat cafes.
