Carnival benefits firefighters

Local News

The Boalsburg fire company is hosting their annual Boalsburg fireman’s carnival at the fire station this weekend.

There will be hot dogs, funnel cakes and other carnival foods and rides for the whole family.
The fire company says it’s their biggest fundraiser of the year, which is a big help when they have unexpected gear expenses.

It goes into the general fund, Greg Alters, Assistant Chief for the Boalsburg Fire Company, said.  So, the money is available should we need it.  We’re always looking to upgrade equipment, fire fighter gear.  Nothing fire related is cheap.

This year, for the first time two local bands, Kristi Jean and her Ne’er Do-Wells and David Zentner will play at the carnival, one on Saturday night and one on Sunday night.

The carnival will be from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, food from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, rides from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, 2-6 p.m. on Sunday and 10-4 p.m. on Monday.
