Local News

State Police say two adults and one child are in critical condition after a school van crash in Clearfield County.

Crews were called around 3 p.m. to the area of Bennett’s Valley Highway and Woodward Road in Hutson Township.

Two women, a 31-year-old and a 66-year-old, and a 12-year-old boy were flown from the scene.

Police say the boy’s seatbelt was used improperly.

Police say the school van was traveling northbound when the driver went off the road and hit a tree.

The van belongs to the DuBois Area School District.

Witnesses who drove by the wreck say the van was unrecognizable.

“By the time we got through, we were already detoured and the van was already laying where it was laying at, against the tree and everything and it didn’t look good at all,” Georgette Pennington said.

The road was closed down for several hours, it is back open.

State police are still investigating what caused the crash.
