Boxing event to raise autism awareness

The Scorchin’ Boxing Gym is hosting their Fever Spring Brawl this Saturday at 7pm at their gym on 8th avenue.

Tickets ahead of time cost $20 or $25 at the door. The event they are accepting donations and raising awareness for autism. The money is going to support members of the gym who have children who are autistic.

The gym has members of all fitness levels and fosters a family inclusive atmosphere. Owner Jeremiah Witherspoon explained, “Here in the boxing gym, it’s not about skill, it’s about will. It’s more about will. And, I don’t think you have to be the most talented, you just have to be the most willing person to do what you need to do to get that workout. It’s a good thing.”

Saturday’s brawl will include fighters from Altoona, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, D.C., and more. Tickets can be purchased at All-Star Pizza, Hair Mafia or by calling Scorchin’ Boxing 814-660-4928.
