Book store goes to the dogs!

Local News

A local book store went to the dogs on Saturday. At Barnes and Noble in Altoona, customers could support the Bedford County Humane Society and take part in Read Across America Day. They also had a chance to meet shelter dogs up for adoption, at the book store.

Some of the pooches even got to enjoy story time in the children’s area.

“I think just encouraging people that shelter dogs are great around families and children, too, and that reading with a dog usually stimulates children to have better concentration while reading,  and we just have a ton of shelter dogs loving dogs that need homes and would be a great addition to your family,” said BCHS Board Member Haley Feaster

By mentioning the Bedford County Humane Society or using a code online, customers could have a portion of their sale donated to the the shelter.
