The boil water advisory has been lifted for the Mountaintop region in Centre County.
For nearly two weeks 1,300 homes have been under a boil water advisory from the Snow Shoe to Pine Glen areas.
Residents in that area rely on two main water sources, but major leaks and low-water levels forced a boil advisory and conservation efforts.
“When you almost run out of water, it puts a lot of panic — not just on the community but the people who are working on it,” maintenance operator Chris Barton said.
The recent rain has also helped with the low-levels.
The water went through a total of four tests to ensure the water was safe to drink before lifting the advisory. Water authority officials were given the final green-light from the Department of Environmental Protection.
Officials said they will continue to look at other options for a new water source.
