Blue and White Boardwalk premieres for Blue and White carnival

Local News

Folks in Happy Valley are getting ready for the Penn State Blue White game, which means the annual carnival is setting up.

The past few years, the carnival was in the parking lot between Pegula Ice Arena and Holuba Hall.
Penn State Athletics says not a lot of people knew the carnival was going on when it was there so they decided to move it back in front of Beaver Stadium, here on Curtain Road.
Curtain Road will be blocked off from University Drive to Porter Road.
The carnival will have the usual favorites, like food trucks, a one hundred foot slide and music.

This year they’re calling the carnival area, “The Boardwalk”.
P.J. Mullen with Penn State Athletics says it will give you the feeling of a jersey shore boardwalk.

“We’re going to have a student athletes line on both sides of the street, we’re pretty much going to have a athlete’s row, so that national championship wrestling team if you want get your picture with those guys and their trophy, the Big Ten champion women’s soccer team and Men’s gymnastic team, the brand new head coach of our Lady Lions program, coach Kieger is going to be there taking pictures with folks,” PJ Mullen, Marketing Manager for Penn State Athletics, said.

The men’s basketball and hockey teams will be there for pictures and autographs.
There will also be an even bigger ferris wheel, this year, a forty footer, and a magician.

The carnival will start at 10 AM on saturday and and go till’ game time, around 3.
