BROCKWAY, JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — An area priest, who’s also president of  a Catholic school board has been removed from active ministry, according to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie.

That’s due to an allegation of sexual abuse of a minor against Monsignor Charles Kaza. He’s  been serving as pastor of St. Tobias Parish in Brockway and president of  the DuBois Central Catholic School Board.

The Diocese of Erie says it’s placed Monsignor Kaza on administrative  leave, effective May 13, pending further investigation. The abuse is alleged to have occurred while the monsignor  was serving at St. John the Baptist Parish in Erie, in the 1980’s.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania Attorney General  at 1-888-538-8541 and K & L. Gates, which is conducting an independent investigation for the diocese.
