Officials in Blair County just launched a new app designed to help save lives.
Columbia Protocol gives you instant access to a list of questions that can help someone contemplating suicide.
The county is the first in the country to develop a smartphone app that uses Columbia-Suicide severity rating scale, as well as contact information for local crisis centers.
The director of Blair County Social Services says over the past 3 years, the county has seen a 64 percent increase in suicide rates.
