Amish man steals, crashes car

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (WTAJ)– An Amish man is arrested in a Jefferson County bar after police say he stole and crashed a car.

Punxsutawney police arrested 21-year-old Jacob Byler at Midway Inn in Punxsutawney Saturday night.

According to the criminal complaint, Byler told police he couldn’t lie and admitted to taking the car– which belonged to Byler’s neighbor.

Police say Blyer said he crashed the car in an embankment along porter road.

He faces charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
