Altoona Police investigating recent burglary

The Altoona Police Department are investigating a burglary that occurred Sunday morning.

The burglary occurred at the East End Ball Field at 300 block of East Crawford Avenue. Police said the suspects entered the field by cutting the fence and forcibly breaking the locks on five different buildings on the property.

The suspects caused major damage to each building and the equipment inside, including damage to the plumbing in the bathrooms and concession stand, the PA system was destroyed, all windows and doors were broken, every possible piece of equipment in each building destroyed, two separate fires were set inside the buildings, and multiple areas spray painted etc.

The total damage is believed to be approximately $20,000.
