Altoona-Cooper building redesigned

Local News

Wednesday the people responsible for helping restore a historic piece of Altoona revealed the new and improved Cooper building.

The 11th avenue building went up in 1907 and was used as several businesses for nearly a hundred years– before it became unoccupied in the 90’s.

Jim Colombo, owner of the building says he can’t wait for a business to return to the building, and bring even more life back into downtown.

“Keep the downtown moving, it’s thriving right now.  Downtown Altoona is really hot.  Eveyrthing is going well right now,” Colombo, said.

The building was redesigned to show a lot of the original architecture from the early 20th century.
Colombo says he thinks an ice cream shop or ravioli restaurant would do well in that spot.
