According to reports, HBO announced that Al Pacino will play the role of former Penn State Football coach Joe Paterno in an upcoming production on the Jerry Sandusky Sex Abuse Scandal.
Multiple media outlets (including variety and The Hollywood Reporter) announced Tuesday that the scandal, which resulted in longtime Paterno assistant Jerry Sandusky receiving a 30-60 years following his conviction on 45 counts of child sexual abuse involving 10 boys, would be the next to become a movie.
The focus of the film will be on Paterno’s reaction to Sandusky’s arrest and the fallout at Penn State.
