The Children’s Aid Agency in Clearfield County says it’s in major need of homes for children. The agency recently had to cancel information service sessions because there were not enough people attending. At the end of the day Adoption Foster Care program manager Shannon Kelly says these kids just want a home.
They want someone to ask them about their day and tuck them in at night. They’re just kids they need love and they deserve it,” says Kelly.
Kelly says the agency specifically struggles with placing teens within foster or adoptive families. “Those older children have an understand of what has happened to them and so I think sometimes foster families and adoptive families get a little bit more nervous, ” according to Kelly.
