LOS ANGELES, Ca. (WTAJ) — Tens of millions of Americans will celebrate this Memorial Day weekend away from home.

AAA expects this year to be one of the busiest ever for holiday travelers.  Nearly 43-million Americans are expected to travel over the Memorial Day weekend, the highest number for the holiday since 2005.

According to AAA the vast majority of travelers, more than 37-million, will take to the roads, driving at least 50 miles from home.  They expect Thursday and Friday to be the busiest days, with most drivers hitting the highways in late afternoon.
