2 found guilty of all charges in death of former Penn State professor

Local News

Two people accused in the death of a former Penn State Professor will spend time behind bars.

After about 2-hours of deliberation, 12 jurors found George Ishler and Danelle Geier guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, murder of the first and third degree, and tampering with evidence.

As soon as the announcement was made Ronald Bettig’s daughter burst into tears.

When the judge asked if the two had anything to say, Geier softly said she was sorry.

Ishler’s attorney argued during closings that there was no physical scientific or medical evidence that proved he pushed the professor.

Throughout the case, both defense attorneys tried to say Ishler and Geier’s confessions were pushed by police.

District Attorney Bernie Cantorna said that the text messages between the two speak for themselves, and so did their testimony

Both will serve life in prison at the Camp Hill State Correctional Institution.
