Big changes are coming to Lakemont Park, but you won’t be able to play there over the summer.

Park officials have decided to close the park for extensive renovations and will reopen on Friday, November 21, 2017 for the Annual Holiday Lights on the Lake.

In a statement the park wrote: “Due to the significant time it takes to set-up for Holiday Lights on the Lake in the fall and tear down in the late Winter-early Spring, any significant renovations that are necessary must be done during the summer season, so as not to interfere with this popular holiday tradition. For the safety of Lakemont Park guests and staff, the Park will not be able to remain open during the renovations.”

Some of those changes include replacing older amusement rides with a new miniature golf course, batting cages, and playgrounds.  There will also be expanded picnic areas and improvements made to the water park.
