Juniata College French professor and France Native reacts to Notre Dame fire

Authorties are assessing the security and safety of the Notre Dame cathedral one day after a massive fire nearly destroyed it.
The fire broke out in the attic.  Investigators think it was likely an accident.
The cathedral’s famous spire burned down, but stained glass windows, along with a giant cross behind it, remain intact.

Jordan Person, French Professor at Juniata College tells us Notre Dame is apart of the history of Paris, and is part of who Parisians are.  He says, although there are already plans to rebuild the famous cathedral, he thinks it will sadly never be the same.

“It’s a bit of shame to lose a very very old structure,” Person, said.  “You can never fake, even if you ask people, craftsman to redo the building, it will never be as powerful as it used to be.”
He says he is thankful to all the people all over the world sending money to the rebuilding project.
