This coming weekend might be one of the busiest days for airports.
According to AAA, yesterday was the worst day to travel this holiday season.
AAA is predicting more than 112 million people will be on the move this weekend.
That’s more than one-third of all Americans.
It’s the highest number since AAA has been tracking holiday travel in 2001.
Experts say low costs are a big part of why more people are hitting the roads this year.
“Gas prices are good and we anticipate about 90 percent of those that are traveling home to see family and friends are going to be on the road traveling in their cars,” said Rosanne Placey, PA Turnpike Commission.
In Pennsylvania more than six million drivers will be on the turnpike this holiday season.
