Tuesday marks the start of a design contest that offers the chance to win more than bragging rights.
Centre County Commissioners announced the beginning of a logo designing contest for the proposed Philipsburg Business Incubator at their meeting Tuesday.
Commissioner Mark Higgins, who spearheaded the incubator idea, said its common for bigger cities to have incubators, as well as logo designing contests.
The logo, as described by Higgins, must be professional, innovative, but shouldn’t be specific to one particular industry, and can’t be copyrighted.
Higgins wants to see a logo that promotes the idea of economic growth in the Philipsburg area.
The contest is open to all Centre County residents, regardless of age. All students registered in the Philipsburg-Osceola School District, regardless of residency, are also eligible to participate.
Along with bragging rights, the winner gets $250.
