Logan Township Police are warning people across the region about a counterfeit money operation.

Police say members in the known counterfeit ring have moved east and are passing fake $100 bills in the Johnstown area.

The bills are good quality and have the correct blue hologram strip. The counterfeit detector pens that stores use do not work on this batch of fakes. Police say the only true way tell it is a fake is by it’s serial number. All the fake bills have the serial number: #LC62272923A.

If you  have any information or see a bill with that number call your local police department.
