Cambria County Relay for Life will give back to local survivors

EBENSBURG, CAMBRIA Co., Pa. (WTAJ) — The Relay for Life of Cambria County will be held on June 1, 2019, at the Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg.

The event will span 24 hours, starting June 1, at 11 a.m. and go until June 2, at 11 a.m.

Teams will gather to continue to raise money for the American Cancer Society, to raise awareness of those fighting and those that lost the battle, and to honor the survivors.

The 24-hour event will see team members walk the track at the school for all 24 hours. Whether one member or many, one person from each team will remain walking. The idea is to symbolize that cancer patients don’t get to give up when they are tired.

The public is encouraged to attend for free. There will be a DJ, kids activities, games, food, a luminaria to honor survivors and even a huge basket raffle with proceeds going to the ACS/Relay.

Survivors are asked to register for attendance to the ceremony and free dinner at the Relay website by clicking here. Registration is required for the dinner.

All Survivors registered in advance will receive a goody bag with a free t-shirt and other items.
