High pressure stationed over southern Ontario is bringing us a partly cloudy sky and seasonable temperatures this afternoon. A change to wetter cooler weather is coming in time for Mother’s Day weekend. High pressure breaks down quickly allowing clouds to move in tonight followed by rain tomorrow. The air mass is dry so rain should hold off until tomorrow afternoon in central Pennsylvania overspreading the region from southwest to northeast. A stalled front is responsible for the unsettled weekend as low pressure organizes and moves eastward along the front bringing clouds, intermittent rain and cooler temperatures Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In fact, temperatures may stay in the 50s Friday and Saturday. If you’re hashing out Mother’s day plans that include a cook out, better have a back up because it will not be the best weekend for hanging out on the patio. Sunday looks like the nicer day but showers and a thunderstorm is possible. Better weather makes a fast return, we’ll warm toward 70 Tuesday.
