A man is in custody and two women freed after being held hostage at a UPS facility in New Jersey Monday morning.

Police responded to a report of an active shooter situation at the facility in Logan Township, Gloucester County around 8:30 a.m.

Officials say 32 employees were inside at the time and taken to a nearby hotel.

The suspect was shot and taken into custody by a SWAT intervention after he didn’t respond to negotiation tactics.

Authorities believe one of the women held hostage is the suspect’s girlfriend.

There is no word on the condition of the gunman at this time.

Schools in that area were placed on lockdown as a safety measure.
