New study shows gender pay gap may be wider than expected

The gender pay gap may be wider than previously thought.

According to a report from the Institute of Women’s Policy, research census data shows women make 80 cents for every dollar a man earns.

But a broader study that measures working arrangements like time taken off to have children shows women earned just 49 cents for each dollar that a man was paid over a 15-year span.
