MOUNTAIN VIEW, Cali. (CNN) — Google unveils a new, and less expensive, version of its Pixel smartphone.

The announcement was made Tuesday at Google’s yearly developer conference in Mountain View, California.

Company officials hope this move will help Google find new customers and make a splash in more global markets.

The Pixel 3a phones cost $399, which is half as much as the original products.

In addition to that, Google is adding more carrier options, including Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular.

Prior to that their phones were only available on Verizon.
