The Dubois YMCA pool reopened Monday after being closed for eight weeks for renovations.

The renovated pool has a new deck and liner.

There’s still some work to be done on the new hot tub. It will be 500 gallons bigger than the old hot tub and have better accessibility.

The pool improvements were part three of a four year renovation project.

So far, the roof, gym and locker rooms have also been redone.

All of these improvements were made possible through community donations.

“The theme of the campaign was ‘insuring a strong future,’ and that’s what we’re trying to do,” DuBois YMCA CEO Dan Dowling said. “We’re trying to have something for the next generation. People make sure that this building is here and strong for the generations to come.”

The next phase of the project is to redo the lobby and parking lot, which will take place next summer.
