STOYSTOWN, SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — All Veterans, their family members, and their friends are invited to learn more about veteran services, available programs and entitlements in Somerset County.

Sponsored by the Veteran Community Initiatives, the Veteran Rural Outreach Event will be Wednesday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stoystown American Legion on N. Club Road.

We strive to reach as many individuals as possible and clear up what is out there for our area veterans. Part of that process is to bring out representatives from a number of organizations who offer an array of services to our veteran community.”

-Tom Caulfield, VCI Director

The event will provide information about potential benefits available for veterans.

Several agencies will be presenting and discussing various topics, including caregiving, PTSD, homelessness, veteran support groups, benefits and claims, job search assistance and others.

All veterans, family members are invited to attend and there will free refreshments and a light lunch at the event.

Anyone with questions can call the Veteran Community Initiatives at 814-255-0355.
