Pennsylvania lawmakers have passed Senate Bill 172 to allow cameras that check your speed in work zones. Drivers caught on camera going at least 11 miles an hour above the speed limit in an active work zone will get a written warning for the first offense. They will get a $75 fine for the second offense and a $150 fine for every time after that. It appears that Governor Wolf will sign it. Those in support say they’ve been trying to get this passed for years and it’s not about collecting money but making sure construction workers go home alive each night. The National Motorists Association is against the bill, saying the cameras can generate false readings and the actual driver can’t be identified.
