Push for PA infrastructure bill

Local News

Governor Tom Wolf and Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman led a rally at the state capitol Wednesday.

They are pushing their “Restore Pennsylvania” initiative.

The 4.5 billion dollar plan would pay for a series of infrastructure projects across the state. It would be paid for by a severance tax on natural gas drilling.

A bill to establish the initiative is almost ready to be introduced. And Governor Wolf urged lawmakers to pass it when it is.

Those against the idea say natural gas drillers already face an impact fee and adding a severance tax would hurt the industry.
